Location
Ashcombe Farmhouse is found less than a mile to the south of Yealmpton in the south-west of Devon.
Yealmpton is a pleasant village in the South Hams where you can find a choice of local pubs and shops, with options for eating out and picking up supplies. There’s also a fine Victorian Gothic church. The farmhouse let itself is set in an idyllic rural location, with a vast garden and surrounded by farmland and the green hills of Devon beyond.
The property is a short walk from the Yealm estuary, and a little further downstream, you’ll find the pretty riverside villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers. There are ample opportunities from here to explore the spectacular South West Coast Path. This holiday let is also ideally positioned for visiting the many attractions of Plymouth city, Dartmoor National Park, the coves and beaches of south Devon, and all that the neighbouring county of Cornwall has to offer.
Getting there
By car
If travelling from outside the Westcountry, you can drive to Exeter then head west along the A38 (or west along the A38 through Plymouth). From the A38, take the exit for Smithaleigh/Yealmpton and when you arrive in Yealmpton, turn left into Torr Hill, continuing onto Ford Road. At the crossroads further down this road, turn right int0 Ashcombe Hill, then left into the private drive to arrive at the holiday property.
By train
There are a number of train routes serving Plymouth. From here, you can catch a bus direct to Yealmpton or use a taxi service for the remaining section of the journey.
By coach
You can catch a coach service to Plymouth, followed by a local bus or taxi service for the remaining half-hour journey to your holiday let in Yealmpton.
