Kingfisher Lodge is an attractive wooden lodge designed for holiday stays. The single-floor property is cleverly arranged, with a sociable open-plan living, dining and kitchen space, and bedrooms leading off from a corridor.
The living space features a high sloping ceiling and an impressive floor-to-ceiling glazed wall, taking full advantage of this height. This opens onto an outdoor decking area on the same level, providing a lovely indoor-outdoor connection. The living area flows seamlessly into the dining space and kitchen. The effect is a comfortable, spacious interior where groups of guests can chat, relax and dine together.
Throughout this holiday lodge, there’s a relaxed modern style. Practical wood flooring in the living spaces gives way to cosy carpets in the bedroom. And the off-white walls are enlivened by splashes of vibrant blues and purples, including a striking plum gloss kitchen. A choice of a bath and walk-in shower and plenty of comfy seating are among the practical features that make this is a relaxing home from home.

Location
Kingfisher Lodge is one of a group of similar lodges at Briar Hill Holiday Park in Newton Ferrers, South Devon. The lodge has an end-of-plot position, providing extra privacy and seclusion, and the park is a quiet, private setting – ideal for a tranquil escape.
The villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo are within easy reach of the park. This twin community sits around the Yealm estuary. It offers picture-postcard Devon scenery, with thatched-roof cottages, gently winding lanes and plenty of greenery. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out or enjoying a drink by the river, with three pubs to drop into.
Newton and Noss have some great recreational options too. Boaties and paddleboarders are drawn to the estuary. And some of Devon’s most spectacular walks await – including a lovely circular route that takes you out to the dramatic coastline. Beaches, moors and urban attractions are all within easy reach on a day-trip from your holiday let.
Getting there
By car
Take the A38 into Devon, heading towards Plymouth, then take the exit marked Smithaleigh/Yealmpton. From Yealmpton, turn left into Torr Hill, continuing onto Ford Road and the B3186. Then follow signs to Newton Ferrers, continuing into the village and through the main street to The Green. You’ll find Briars Hill Holiday Park on your right-hand side, just before the church.
By train
You can catch a train from many locations to Plymouth city centre. From here, take a taxi for the remaining half-hour journey to your holiday lodge – or you can check out the bus local but infrequent bus service to Newton Ferrers from Plymouth’s Royal Parade.
By coach
Coaches arrive conveniently in the heart of the city centre. From here, you can catch a local bus or it may work better to take one of the many available taxis for the remaining half-hour drive to your holiday lodge in Newton Ferrers.

Noss Mayo is another pretty village nestled on the opposite bank of the River Yealm. A 25 minute stroll takes you around the creek to the other side, where alternative views and various nature-filled walks await, along with an extra selection of pubs to check out.
