Moose Cottage is a lovely old stone-built cottage in Newton Ferrers – rich in with and charm but with the modern surprise of a bright and airy interior.
Stepping through the property’s zingy green front door, you’re welcomed by an engaging, contemporary home. Warm white walls and a chic terrazzo tiled floor bounce light throughout the space, while playful splashes of vivid colour – led by purple and turquoise – bring a fun and vibrant dimension. These modern twists sit happily beside the old, with the quirky curved walls and exposed timber lintels celebrating of the cottage’s heritage.
Throughout Moose Cottage, you’ll find quality features to help make your stay a comfortable one. From the high-end kitchen equipment and spacious tiled shower to designer touch-operated light switches, everything is considered and attractively presented.
Outside, the front garden comes with its own river access plus a seating area from which to watch life go by out on the estuary, and a handy storage area – making this a great spot for a relaxing waterside escape.

- Master bedroom features king size double bed, plenty of built-in wardrobe space, and views over the estuary and across to Noss Mayo, and connects to en-suite shower room with walk-in quadrant shower, toilet and wash basin.
- Bedroom 2 has a king size bed (which can also be arranged as twin beds) and wardrobe storage.

Please be advised that the front door opens out on to a small single-track dead-end road and that there are steps leading leading down to the river that require care.
Location
Moose Cottage is positioned at the end of a terrace of similar period properties in a lovely location immediately next to Newton Creek in the Devon village of Newton Ferrers.
Newton Ferrers and the twin village of Noss Mayo which sits opposite it, just across the Yealm estuary, are an idyllic and sought-after waterside community. If you’re interested in sailing, paddleboarding or kayaking, the property couldn’t be better placed – even offering your own private access to the river from the front garden, with a handy storage area for your equipment.
Newton and Noss offer a choice of lovely pubs, including the Dolphin Inn just a minute’s walk from your doorstep. There are also a variety of fantastic walks, with some of Devon’s most stunning scenery along the way. Wander through the ancient wooded slopes around the estuary, or out through Noss Mayo to the spectacular cliffy coast. You’re also well placed for a wide variety of trips out of the village, with stunning sandy beaches, beautiful countryside and culture-laden towns and cities all within easy reach on a day out.
Getting there
By car
If coming from the east, head to Exeter then west along the A38 (or past Plymouth along the A38 if coming from the west). Take the exit for Smithaleigh/Yealmpton and when you arrive in Yealmpton, turn left into Torr Hill, continuing on to Ford Road and the B3186. Continue onto Parsonage Road. As you enter the village, turn left into Yealm Road then left down into Newton Hill. Take a left turn onto Riverside Road East. Your holiday cottage is a little way along on the left.
By train
There are frequent rail services to Plymouth city centre. From here, there is a bus service to Newton Ferrers. If the timings aren’t convenient, it may be easier to take a taxi for the remaining half-hour journey to your holiday let.
By coach
Numerous coach services arrive at Plymouth station, located in the centre of the city. From here, a local bus service is available to Newton Ferrers – or you may find it more convenient to take a taxi service for the remaining half-hour drive to your holiday house.
