Oak Corner is a beautiful Devon house rich in character and period features. With its traditional thatched roof and exposed stone, this is a picture postcard cottage that evokes all the heritage and romance of Devon country life.
Charming features are in abundance inside Oak Corner too. Exposed ceiling beams, irregular stone walls and deep, panelled windows all serve to reveal the home’s history and character. Features such as a wood burner, Rayburn stove and roll-top slipper bath add to the cosy, classic feel.
The home is finished to a high standard and modern additions throughout are tastefully blended to respect the age of the cottage. A classic Shaker-style kitchen, comfy seating and slate tiled floors all sit comfortably in the property. A white colour scheme and upstairs, a high vaulted ceiling, bring a sense of light and space.
Outside, a secluded country garden with a patio, gravel area and raised decking area provide a lovely setting in which to enjoy the fresh country air and the tranquillity of the quiet rural setting.

Location
The cottage is located in a quiet rural spot surrounded by lovely countryside on the outskirts of Yealmpton, a village in the South Hams, in South Devon.
Yealmpton is a quiet and historic village with two pubs (both of which serve food), as well as an impressive Victorian Gothic church. There are a few local shops, including a convenience store offering a limited range of food and other essentials.
This location is a great base for visiting a wide variety of attractions in the surrounding area. It’s a short distance from the idyllic waterside villages of Newton and Noss plus sensational cliffside walks and a choice of beaches along the South Devon coast.
For a different taste of the great outdoors, Dartmoor National Park is also within easy reach of Oak Cottage. Plus, the let is a short drive from the city of Plymouth with its rich maritime tradition, world-class entertainment, diverse shopping centre and varied cultural attractions.

By car
If travelling into the Westcountry, drive to Exeter then head west along the A38 (or west along the A38 through Plymouth). From the A38, take the exit for Smithaleigh/Yealmpton.
By train
There are multiple rail services to Plymouth. From here, you can catch a bus direct to Yealmpton or use a taxi service for the remaining leg of the journey.
By coach
You can catch a coach service to Plymouth, followed by a local bus or taxi service for the remaining half-hour journey to your holiday let in Yealmpton.
