Seven Stones is situated in the centre of Newton Ferrers, a village in the South Hams district beside the south Devon coast. Newton Ferrers blends into the neighbouring Noss Mayo, these two villages straddling the beautiful Yealm estuary.

Newton and Noss abound with Devon charm– right on your doorstep, you’ll discover meandering lanes and pretty views over the sloping wooded banks of the estuary. The river itself is a magnet for those who enjoy water-based pursuits. The house even comes with a kayak and paddleboards, should you want to get out on the river yourself.

You’ll find plenty to keep you sustained during your stay. The villages are served by a range of shops and amenities, and you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to pubs – with no fewer than three friendly local establishments at which to enjoy a meal or to unwind with a drink.

Getting there

By car
Follow the A38 into Devon, heading towards Plymouth, then take the exit marked Smithaleigh/Yealmpton. From Yealmpton, turn left into Torr Hill, continuing onto Ford Road and the B3186. Continue along Parsonage Road, following signs to Newton Ferrers. Turn left into Yealm Road, then around 300 metres along this road, turn into Newton Hill, where you’ll arrive at your holiday property.

By train
You can catch a train service to Plymouth city centre. From here, take a taxi for the remaining half-hour journey to your holiday let, or you can catch the bus service to Newton Ferrers if the timings are convenient.

By coach
Coaches arrive conveniently in the heart of Plymouth city centre. From here, you can catch a local bus or it may work better to take one of the many available taxis for the remaining half-hour drive to your holiday house in Newton Ferrers.

Noss Mayo is another pretty village nestled on the opposite bank of the River Yealm. A 25 minute stroll takes you around the creek to the other side, where alternative views and various nature-filled walks await, along with an extra selection of pubs to check out.

Mothecombe Beach

Nestling in a rocky cove, this sheltered beach boasts soft golden sand, rockpools and shallow waters, making it perfect for a family seaside day out. What’s more, it backs on to classic rolling Devon landscapes and links to coastal paths with sensational views.
