Stoke Cottage is a sensational holiday property beside Devon’s glorious south coast. This stone and timber-clad house combines traditional rural charm with a light and stylish interior that’s just perfect for a relaxing and sociable getaway.

The house is beautifully presented and makes a warm and welcoming impression on guests. Soft white walls and the use of natural materials such as oak and slate, create a timeless look. And the downstairs open-plan arrangement and extensive glazed sliding doors help the home feel connected, both internally and together with the garden and outdoor features.

Outside, the generous grounds offer a lavish sense of space. A large decked area with plenty of seating makes a seamless extension to the house in fine weather, via the sliding doors. And the quiet position among gorgeous old woodland, with glimpses down to the sea, add to the sense of tranquillity and of being surrounded by nature.

    Location

    Stoke Cottage is located in Revelstoke Park, a quiet, privately owned caravan park by the coast, and close to the village of Noss Mayo.

    The house is positioned near the top end of the park, surrounded by woodland and looking down towards the sea. A short walk takes you to Stoke Beach, a small, secluded dog-friendly beach with dramatic rocky formations. The South West Coast Path also runs through the park, leading you along along some of England’s most picturesque coastal cliff walks.

    A little inland from your holiday let (a 5-minute drive or a pleasant 25-minute walk), discover the villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers. This community, sloping down to the Yealm estuary, provides lovely views, pubs serving good food, useful shops and local amenities, and a taste of life by the river.

    Beyond Newton and Noss, there are countless attractions to enjoy in Devon and Cornwall within day-tripping distance. Explore the shopping, culture and history of Plymouth, trek across the wild landscapes of Dartmoor, or explore more of the wonderful coastline.

    Getting there

    By car
    If coming from outside the Westcountry, head to Exeter then west along the A38. Take the exit for Smithaleigh/Yealmpton and when you arrive in Yealmpton, turn left into Torr Hill, driving on to Ford Road and along the B3186. Continue into Newton Ferrers. At Bridgend crossroads, alongside the end of the creek, turn onto Stoke Road then continue along this road out through Noss Mayo village, for around 1.5 miles. At another crossroads, drive straight ahead and you’ll see a sign for Revelstoke Park. You’ll arrive at your holiday let shortly after this.

    By train
    You can catch a train to Plymouth city centre. From here, there is a bus service to Noss Mayo but it is infrequent. Alternatively, there are numerous taxi services that can take you on the short remaining journey to your holiday let.

    By coach
    There are lots of coach services arriving in Plymouth city centre. From here, there is an infrequent local bus service to Noss Mayo. Or you might prefer to use a local taxi service for the remaining half-hour drive to your holiday house.

    Noss Mayo & Newton Ferrers

    Take a scenic walk to Noss Mayo, with Newton Ferrers just opposite on the pretty, sloping banks of the estuary. This tranquil corner of the South Hams offers breathtakingly scenic walks, lovely traditional pubs, and opportunities for sailing and paddleboarding.

    Mothecombe Beach

    Nestling in a rocky cove, this sheltered beach boasts soft golden sand, rockpools and shallow waters, making it perfect for a family seaside day out. What’s more, it backs on to classic rolling Devon landscapes and links to coastal paths with sensational views.
