Newton Calm Lodge is an inviting self-catering property purpose-built for sociable holiday stays. This wooden lodge accommodation has a wonderfully light living space, thanks to a stunning fully glazed wall. High, vaulted ceilings and a soft, light colour scheme provide a spacious and classy feel.
The lodge is excellently equipped and modern, and comes with welcoming home features. From the TV and WiFi, to the comprehensively equipped kitchen and comfortable adjacent lounge/living area, and large walk-in shower, the property is made with a pleasant and relaxing holiday experience in mind.
Outside, a large private timber-decked terrace with level access from the interior provides a practical, accessible space to enjoy – with a wraparound glass-surround veranda allowing plenty of light in. Connected to the lodge’s interior via French doors, this area is ideal for outdoor dining or spending time out in the open air. And with the lodge located in a quiet rural holiday park, it’s a serene spot in which to unwind.

Location
You’ll find Newton Calm Lodge in the small, secluded Briar Hill, a group of holiday lodges, on the edge of Newton Ferrers, a short distance from the twin villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo, and their surrounding countryside.
Newton Ferrers is an idyllic waterside village in the south-west corner of South Devon, near the coast. The village slopes down to the picturesque Yealm Estuary, with the neighbouring village of Noss Mayo opposite. This quiet community is a prized spot for yachties, paddleboarders and anyone who loves laid-back living by the water. As well as practical amenties such as a shop, butchers and Post Office, the community is served by a selection of friendly waterside pubs where you can grab a drink, an ice-cream or a delicious meal.
Newton and Noss boast some of the finest nature walks in the South West. From your holiday let, you can stroll through quaint Devon lanes, beautiful woodland and open countryside. And perhaps the most scenic route is a stretch of the South West Coast Path with a variety of breathtaking views over the English Channel, to the Great Mewstone island, and along the dramatic rocky cliffs of Devon and Cornwall.
Getting there
By car
Drive along the A38 into Devon, heading towards Plymouth, then take the exit marked Smithaleigh/Yealmpton. From Yealmpton, exit left onto Torr Hill, continuing onto Ford Road and the B3186. From here, follow signs to Newton Ferrers, and proceed into the village, through the main street to The Green. Look for Briars Hill Holiday Park on your right, just before the church.
By train
There are frequent train services to Plymouth city centre. From here, take a taxi for the remaining half-hour journey to your holiday lodge. A bus service to Newton Ferrers is also available but infrequent, so check the times to plan this.
By coach
You can catch a coach service into Plymouth city centre. From here, it’s easiest to hop into a taxi for the remaining half-hour drive to your holiday lodge in Newton Ferrers. You can also catch a bus directly to Newton Ferrers but services are limited.

Noss Mayo is another pretty village nestled on the opposite bank of the River Yealm. A short stroll takes you around the creek to the other side, where alternative views and various nature-filled walks await, along with an extra selection of pubs to check out.
